KP rocks offers you unique and unusual jewellery made from real materials such as freshwater pearls and semi precious stones at affordable prices. Our philosophy is that everyone should be able to afford boutique jewellery without the boutique price tag.

The KP rocks collection ranges from chunky and funky to more delicate styles appealing to all tastes. Given the abundance of semi precious stones and freshwater pearls found in China we source our materials from here.  The jewellery is made to our own designs or occasionally bought readymade if a design is particularly unusual and appealing but we then tweak it to ensure that it meets our high quality standards. Every item is hand selected and carefully chosen. The aim is to offer customers unusual and versatile jewellery that they will not readily find on the high street. Often the jewellery is versatile: a necklace can be worn as a bracelet, or a necklace can be worn in a variety of ways.

Sue Kay

Having raised two children to independence, Sue went to live in China as a trailing spouse in 1997. Nine years later she is working as a freelance teacher and writer, travelling whenever possible to every corner of the country.

Sue has become increasingly entranced by the culture and creative skills of the Chinese people and is keen to develop a greater understanding between east and west. Two thousand years ago beautiful goods were brought from China via the long and hazardous Silk Road by camel but now we can have them via an electronic blip by mouse. Working with a Chinese family friend and adviser, Sue has found sources of exciting ideas and materials for KP rocks whilst also keeping costs low.
